Road Trip Around The Scenic Sicilian Cities

Last time when I bought the
flight tickets to Amsterdam, Alessandro was happy but he underlined that our
next trip would have been to Sicily. So here we are, exactly in Sicily as he

Sicily, in Italian Sicilia, is an attractive island, which has finally
started to seduce travellers with its dazzling diversity of landscapes and
cultural treasures. It is the largest Island of the Mediterranean Sea, on the
southern tip of Italy, and is one of the country’s 20 regions. It is separated
from the Italian mainland region of Calabria by the 5 km Straits of Messina and
the distance between Marsala, Sicily and Hammam El Ghezaz, Tunisia, is
approximately 200 km. Meanwhile Pantelleria, a minor island of Sicily is only
60 km far away from the African coasts. Knowing already that because of its
geographical position it could get very hot during the summer, we decided to
visit it during the autumn: has been a very bad idea since rain, fog and some
cold sunny days surprised us.

Favara, Farm Cultural Park

We flew
from Bologna to Catania from where we had our car rented. We planned to visit
the following cities, of which, I want to tell you everything! Yes, I will spam
you with all our experiences in Sicily, places we have visited, food we have
eaten, and why not? I want to share also about the wonderful hotels we have been as it is said that Sicily has the most beautiful hotels in the world and I want to write also about some special people we met along the way. Stay tuned it is
going to be all about Sicily until the end of the year 2018.

Traditional Old House in Enna

These were exactly the
cities of our tour:

Catania (Just landing)

Agrigento (B&B Arco Ubriaco)

Ragusa Ibla ( B&B Epoca)

Portopalo ( B&B Lalena’s Garden)

Marzamemi (fast Stop-over)

Noto (day visit)

Ispica (day visit)

Catania (departure)

Giorgio il Tabaccaio, Ragusa Ibla

cities were just amazing and I wished we would had more days to spend in that
lovely island. Even small, due to its important historical evidences and the
interesting nature, one single trip hasn’t been enough to see what it had to
offer in term of tourism. So, we will be back soon to Sicily! This itinerary,
though, seemed to me perfect for the first time Sicilian traveller since it was
the well-organized area of the Region.
I felt so sad to say goodbye to Sicily. This place has
opened my eyes and shown me so much beauty in humanity and Mother Nature. I
will be counting down the days until our return which, I assure you, won’t be
